Refurbished, remanufactured, and used
Used means the machine ran somewhere and has been cleaned and inspected. Refurbished means wear parts have been renewed to a stated scope. Remanufactured means a full strip, measured clearances, new seals and bearings (and typically valve plates or shaft seals), and a test run where the frame allows it.
Ask for the scope in writing. “Refurbished” without a clearance sheet is a used machine with a wash. We would rather lose a sale than send a rotor that still has thrust-face smear.
- Nameplate, hours if known, and last duty (NH₃, suction range)
- Housing, shaft, and mounting inspection before paint
- Seals, bearings, and gaskets renewed on remanufactured units
- Option to hold a spare while your installed compressor is overhauled
